Rainbow Cards

Hello! Today I want to share the homework that I did for the newest Online Card Class: Rainbow Maker.

On all of these cards I used Distress Inks and my ink blending tool. The colours are Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Mermaid Lagoon, and Wilted Violet.

For the “Rainbow Happy Everything” card, I die cut the Scripty Happy from Lawn Fawn and temporarily adhered it on a piece of white cardstock. With my ink blending tool I dabbed the colours onto the cardstock to create a rainbow. I did not do any blending – I really just dabbed the ink onto the paper.
The temporarily adhered die-cut had served as a mask and, so, after I finished applying the colours, I removed the die-cut to reveal a white “happy”.
From black cardstock I die-cut one of the Everyday Sentiment Banners by Lawn Fawn and stamped “everything” from the stamp set Happy Happy Happy in Lawn Fawn’s Yeti ink. I adhered it to the right of the panel and trimmed off the excess.

My second card, “Rainbow Hugs”, did involve some ink blending. With my ink blending tool, I lightly applied Distress Ink along the top edge of a piece of white cardstock. From black cardstock, I die-cut Lawn Fawn’s Scripty Hugs twice and stacked them together to create some dimension. I adhered the die-cuts to the panel and embellished the panel with some sequins.

My last card for today is by far my favourite of these three: “Rainbow Congrats”. Similar to the “Rainbow Hugs” card, I applied Distress Ink with my ink blening tool along the edge of white cardstock. I then placed the Tiny Hearts stencil from Heidi Swapp over the inked area and applied the same Distress Inks. The open heart areas received a second layer of colour, while the rest was protected by the stencil.
From black cardstock, I die-cut Lawn Fawn’s Scripty Congrats twice and stacked them together to create some dimension. I also adhered some Heart Wood Veneers from Lawn Fawn onto the panel. The card would have been fine without them but I accidentally smudged some colour on the right side of the panel – and the wood veneers cover it up :-P.
Here is a photo of the card. I really love how this turned out!

All of these cards measure DIN A6, that is 10.5 x 14.8 cm folded (unfolded: 10.5 x 29.7 cm).

Just a note: this is the homework for Day 1 of Rainbow Maker. By the time I upload this post, it will probably already be Day 5 of class. I plan on doing more homework for this class, but unfortunately, I have some pretty busy days coming up. I hope I will find some time to create some more cards.

I hope you enjoyed these cards! Thank you for stopping by! See you soon!
